FIRST WINNER FOR WEST COAST

Gary and Mary West’s freshman sire and multiple grade 1 winner West Coast sired his first winner when his son Fit to Fly won his career debut at Hawthorne Race Course by an impressive 7 1/4 lengths.
Fit to Fly is trained by Larry Rivelli, who made the colt’s first test a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight on the dirt. He won gate-to-wire in a final time of :52.53.
West Coast, who stands at Lane’s End for $15,000, compiled a 6-5-1 record from 13 starts and earned $5,803,800. He won or placed in eight graded stakes, getting victories in the Travers Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) and Pennsylvania Derby (G1). He also was second in the 2018 Dubai World Cup
