FLIGHTLINE NAMED HORSE OF THE YEAR

27 Jan 2023 10:22

Unbeaten superstar Flightline was crowned 2022 North American Horse of the Year at the 52nd annual Eclipse Awards banquet in Palm Beach, Florida, on Thursday night, and also won the Eclipse for Older Dirt Male.
Flightline capped his season and career with an 8 1/4-length victory over Olympiad in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland on Nov. 5, a record for winning margin in that race.

“In the words of [track announcer] Trevor Denman, ‘We may never see the likes of this again,’” Sadler said during the Eclipse Awards livestream.
In a tightly contested vote, Travers winner Epicenter was named most outstanding 3-Year-Old Male, over Taiba and Modern Games.
