FIRST WINNER FOR GHAIYYATH

European Champion Ghaiyyath sired his first winner on Wednesday, 14 August when his son Stanhope Gardens impressed at Beverley. Making his second career start after a promising third at Sandown, he was always prominent before asserting in the straight for a two-and-a-quarter length victory, with six lengths back to the third.
Bred by Tullpark Ltd and a 210,000gns yearling, Stanhope Gardens is the third winner bred out of the Stakes-placed mare Pure Art (Dutch Art), a half-sister to the Classic-placed Romsdal and from the family of Irish Oaks heroine Pure Grain.

Ghaiyyath excelled on the track, winning nine of his 13 career starts including four victories at the highest level. He was crowned German Champion as a four-year-old after winning the Grosser Preis von Baden by 14 lengths, and European Champion the following season after taking the Juddmonte International, Eclipse and Coronation Cup.
