ARC WINNER RETIRED TO STUD

28 Oct 2024 15:24

Owners Juddmonte kept previous Arc-winning filly Enable in training to bid for a historic third victory after she captured the race for the second time as a four-year-old in 2018, but Bluestocking will head straight to the paddocks.

The Camelot filly won five of her 13 starts for the leading owner-breeder and trainer Ralph Beckett, also enjoying Group One success in the Pretty Polly Stakes in Ireland and the Prix Vermeille in France en-route to landing Europe’s premier middle-distance prize on her return to Paris earlier this month.

A statement from the owners said: “Following careful consultation with the family, it has been decided that Bluestocking should be retired to stud.

“In a stellar career, Bluestocking never finished out of the first four in her 13 career starts and won three Group One races in 2024, culminating in her win in the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. She retires sound and healthy and will take up her next career at Juddmonte’s Banstead Manor Stud.”
