18 Nov 2020 14:18

Trainer Dermot Weld believes superstar filly Tarnawa could be able to scale even greater heights next season, with the brilliant Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1T) heroine set to remain in training for 2021 as she charts a possible path to the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1).The 4-year-old’s future appeared uncertain after the curtain came down on a flawless campaign at Keeneland earlier this month, but Weld has confirmed that the triple group/grade 1 scorer will be back for more in the new year.An impressive winner of the Prix de l’Opera Longines (G1) at ParisLongchamp on Arc day last month, Weld has not ruled out the possibility of his stable star returning to Paris for a tilt at the biggest prize in European racing in 2021.

Tarnawa, a daughter of deceased top sire Shamardal, has won eight of 14 starts thus far, with the filly having also triumped in the G1 Prix Vermeille earlier this year.
