GOLDEN SIXTY NAMED HORSE OF THE YEAR

Hong Kong superstar Golden Sixty has been feted at the Jockey Club Champion Awards on Tuesday night, collecting four gongs including the prestigious Horse of the Year title.

The five-year-old completed the perfect season with seven victories from seven starts, including four at Group One level, to extend his remarkable winning streak to 14.

His performances in the Hong Kong Mile, Stewards’ Cup and Champions Mile ensured he was crowned Champion Miler, while his victory in the Hong Kong Gold Cup was enough to give him the honour of Champion Middle-Distance Horse.

Hot King Prawn won the Champion Sprinter title, his maiden Group One victory in the Centenary Sprint Cup and his success in the Group Two Jockey Club Sprint enough for him to collect the prize over Wellington.

Panfield, from the Tony Millard stable, claimed the Champion Stayer award on the back of his win in May’s Group One Champions & Chater Cup.
