LOGICIAN RETIRED

04 Aug 2021 09:37

Logician, brilliant winner of the 2019 G1 William Hill St Leger, has been retired. The grey son of Frankel will commence stud duties, as a National Hunt stallion, at Shade Oak Stud in 2022.
Logician , who also landed that season’s Sky Bet Great Voltigeur Stakes (G2), joins Peter and Emma Hockenhull’s Shropshire operation after a deal was completed with his owner-breeders Juddmonte. Logician, who was Frankel’s first classic-winning son, landed all five starts at 3 and earned a fond send-off from his trainer John Gosden, who formerly trained the outstanding jump sires Flemensfirth, Presenting, and Shantou.
In all, Logician (who hails from the same female line as former South African champion sire Northern Guest), won six of his nine starts.
